So I have a 93 NA, meaning the EGR solenoid is mounted on a plate down by cylinder 3, not T'd in with the AIV or anything. It has 3 vacuum lines: to the intake, to the connection under the throttle body, and to the hard line under the plenum to the EGR itself. Am I correct in assuming that default to that line is atmospheric and that corresponds to a closed EGR? The reason I ask is I'd like to get the solenoid, bracket, and vacuum lines out of the way, leaving the hardware for a later date. So I wanted to make sure capping the hard line running to the EGR wouldn't have any effects. 2nd question while I'm at it. What exactly is so hard about yanking the EGR with the engine in? Is it just getting to those two bolts? Seems like it wouldn't be that bad with the plenum off. The only other thing I can think of is the connection to the driver's side exhaust mani, since I haven't seen how it's secured.
